The Called & Gifted™ Discernment Process has been used since 1993 by over 100,000 lay, ordained, and religious Catholics and other Christians around the world. It is designed to help Christians discern the presence of charisms in their lives. For a basic introduction to charisms, visit our Charisms FAQ.

All three parts of the process are necessary for discovering where you are gifted. 

• Step One is the Called and Gifted workshop, which lays the foundation for the beginning of discernment. 
• Step Two is the one hour gifts interview, an invaluable part of the process. 
• Step Three helps you begin discernment in the real world. It will teach you how to:
  • develop charism experiments
  • evaluate your results
  • identify ways you learned to control life as a child that get in the way of using your charisms as an adult.

Step One: Go through the Called & Gifted™ introductory workshop. 
During the Called & Gifted™ workshop you will take the Catholic Spiritual Gifts Inventory.
You will learn:

• The role of every Catholic and of the local parish in the mission of the Church to the world. 
• The critical role of charisms in the life and service of other lay Catholics and in the life of the parish or Christian community. 
• The signs and characteristics of 24 common charisms. 
• How discerning and using your charisms can change your life and the life of others, your parish, and the world.

Step Two: After going through the introductory Called & Gifted workshop and taking the Catholic Spiritual Gifts Inventory, the second step is to have a one hour personal gifts interview.
Experienced, Catherine of Siena Institute-trained gifts interviewers are available. Our interviewers can help you:

• look at your inventory results
• listen to your experiences of being used by God
• recognize patterns in your life that may indicate the presence of a charism
• choose one charism to discern
• find a way to "experiment" with that gift in the context of your real life
• answer your personal questions about specific charisms or discernment

Step Three: Going through the initial workshop and having an interview is all preparation for the real work of discernment. You will now put into practice what you have learned about discernment. You will pick one charism to "experiment with" and see what God does.

There are three small group discussion sessions, each from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and are scheduled for:
   - October 19
   - November 9
   - November 23

   The Cost is Only $45 (Includes Speaker Fees, Materials, and Lunch on September 28)

   Registration is Open from August 4 through September 15.
