Parish Life

PICNIC: Plan the annual parish gathering the first Sunday in June for fun, food and friendship.

PRE-MARRIAGE COUNSELOR: Help interpret a Pre-Marriage Communication Inventory with engaged couples.

WEDDING COORDINATOR: Assist wedding couple during planning stages for rehearsal and wedding.

BAPTISM PREPARATION COUPLE: Meet with parents who are seeking baptism for their children.

BOOK CLUB: Participate in book discussions – AM/PM sessions.

LENTEN SOUP SUPPERS: Help organize and serve at soup supper events.

ROMANCING MARRIAGE: Plan annual dinner dance for married couples.

MARRIAGE PREPARATION COUPLE: Meet with engaged couples once as they prepare for their marriage.


Christian Service

RELAY FOR LIFE EVENT: Help coordinate SJN participation in the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life.

RESPECT LIFE: Raise awareness for Life Issues through education and activities.

SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL: Become a conference member and assist with clothing drive and special works for those in need.

FUNERAL LUNCHES: Prepare salad or dessert or purchase an item for a funeral lunch, become a team coordinator, and/or set up/ serve lunch (lunch server).

GRIEF SUPPORT: Interested in attending Grief Counseling.

JESSE TREE ADVENT PROGRAM: Help prepare and hang tags and/or help deliver gifts.

NEUMANN’S NEEDLERS: Knit/crochet items for charity.

PARISH HEALTH MINISTRY: Assesses needs and develop appropriate responses. Assist with blood drives; blood pressure checks.

PEACE AND JUSTICE: Raise awareness of Catholic Social Teaching and/or provide rides to mass.

PARISH OUTREACH PROJECTS: Help organize events, deliver items, serve meals.


Worship

SACRISTAN ASSISTANT: Wash and iron altar linens periodically.

SJN CHORALE: Sing four-part music, similar to “traditional” choirs. Music consists of a wide variety of styles.

USHER: Greet, seat, direct and collect at the weekend liturgies.

WORSHIP COMMISSION: Parish representatives and ministry coordinators who meet bi-monthly to assess the parish’s worship experience.

ART & ENVIRONMENT: Plant and decorate  for the liturgical seasons of the church year.

CANTOR: Lead our assembly in singing during Mass.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTER: Distribute the Eucharist under the forms of bread and wine at all the weekend liturgies.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTER TO THE HOMEBOUND: Regularly bring the Eucharist to the homebound and assist at monthly Liturgy at assisted living facilities.

FUNERAL SACRISTAN: Assist family and priest during funeral Liturgy.

GREETERS: Help welcome parishioners as they arrive to weekend and holiday Masses. Assist newcomers and provide support to the front office with parishioner needs.

HOSPITALITY: Provide refreshments for events at the parish and assist with monthly hospitality weekends (coffee and donuts).

INSTRUMENTALISTProvide a wide variety of musical expression at Sunday liturgies.

KIDS OF THE KINGDOM: Children’s choral group for children from 2nd grade and up that participate and sing at monthly Mass and seasonal Liturgies.

LECTOR: Proclaim the scripture at the weekend Liturgies.

MASS HELPER: Girls and boys who assist the priest at the weekend Liturgies. Grades 4-8.

MEDIA MINISTRY: Use the computer to project songs and prayers during Liturgies.


Religious Formation

H.S. MINISTRY VOLUNTEERS: Share your faith and build relationships with high school youth during our Wednesday youth group meetings, Sunday Seeker’s program and other youth events. No experience necessary.

Y.A. MINISTRY VOLUNTEERS: Help plan young adult events and coordinate young adults’ participation in larger parish events!

M.S. MINISTRY VOLUNTEERS: Share your faith and build relationships with middle school youth during our Sunday youth group and other middle school programs! No experience necessary.

Y.M. FOOD PROVIDERS: Occasionally provide meals or baked goods for our Wednesday After School crew, our youth groups, and other youth events!

W.Y.D. SUPPORTERS: Use you special gifts and talents to help our World Youth Day pilgrims fundraise and spiritually prepare for their pilgrimage. There are hundreds of ways to support them!

ADULT FAITH FORMATION: Organize Bible study groups and speakers. Especially, but not exclusively, during Lent and Advent.

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS: Enrich the bond between us and All Saints and other Catholic Schools through communication and parish support.

RELIGIOUS FORMATION CATECHIST: Reach out and share your love for the Lord! Our Religious Formation weekly program serves 400 young people. Consider giving of your time as a teacher, assistant, hall monitor, or office helper.

ASSISTANT CATECHIST: Assist Catechist in the classroom. Help with weekly prayer and activities.

SUBSTITUTE CATECHIST: Teach a class once or twice a month when the Catechist is not available for a certain week. Many volunteers are needed for this ministry.

VOCATION MINISTRY: Raise awareness of the need for vocations by supporting our traveling Chalice program and developing ways to supprt seminarians.

CHILDCARE MINISTRY: Volunteers needed to supervise care for younger siblings during Sacramental Preparation Sessions, and also for Adult Faith Formation annual events.

CHEER TEAM: Volunteer team coming together to shop, decorate, host, and serve at religious formation special events.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD CATECHIST: Children’s Liturgy of the Word meets during the Sunday 10:30 am Mass for the entire hour. Leading the children in prayer and activities based on the Mass. Volunteers are also needed to be helpers.

CYO COACHING STAFF: Serve as a coach, assistant coach, or support team member to one of our Varsity or Junior Varsity volleyball or basketball teams.

CYO SUPPORTERS: Help with registration, ticket sales, concessions, advertising, or use your gifts and talents to serve our athletic program in another way. Opportunities are abundant!
